Prof. dr. Marie Scully is a consultant haematologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), currently acting as the clinical lead for haemostasis and thrombosis, having spent ten years as the clinical lead for blood transfusion. Her particular area of interest is acquired haemostasis and platelet disorders, specifically ITP and iTTP. During her lecture, she will elaborate on the latest developments in the treatment of iTTP patients.

Dr. Rens de Groot is a Principle Research Fellow at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science at University college London and an expert on enzymes of the ADAMTS family that play a role in cardiovascular diseases, such as iTTP. The ADAMTS enzymes constitute a family of 19 proteases in humans, which have evolved to cleave different extracellular proteins in different tissues. During his lecture he will expand on his findings for different ADAMTS family members.
