Tanja D. de Gruijl, Professor of Translational Tumour Immunology and leader of the Immunotherapy and Immune Monitoring Lab at the Department of Medical Oncology in the Cancer Center of Amsterdam (CCA) of the Amsterdam University Medical Centers (UMC). With over 25 years of experience and 250 publications, her research spans preclinical investigations to immune monitoring in Phase I-III clinical trials. Topics include immune potentiation of tumor-draining lymph nodes, the tumor microenvironment, oncolytic adenoviruses, and nanobody-mediated targeting of (NK)T-cell subsets.
Tanja supervised foundational research for DCPrime BV (now Immunicum) and co-founded LAVA Therapeutics. She serves as an associate editor for prestigious journals like Cancer Immunology Research, the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, and Clinical and Experimental Immunology and holds leadership roles, including on the board of directors for the Society for the Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC).
