Title: The Legacy of Blood Transfusion
Blood transfusion is regarded as a lifesaving intervention. In the past decades it has however become clear that
blood transfusion can also be a life threatening intervention. This has resulted in a more restrictive transfusion
policy world wide. In this meeting the past, present and future of blood transfusion will be reviewed.
