Genetically engineered T cells are a prominent addition to the oncologist’s toolbox. CAR T cells are one example that is already widely used to treat hematological malignancies. Growing insights into the genetic programs that promote or limit T cell function open-up exciting possibilities to genetically empower T cells used for adoptive therapies against cancer, but also to treat autoimmune diseases and protect transplanted organs. We are looking for an ambitious postdoctoral fellow!Project
In this project, we will develop high efficiency precision editing technology in T cells that avoids untoward damage to the genome, achieves defined expression characteristics and allows introduction of point mutations. These methods will be used for the generation of new therapeutic T cell products (in collaboration with hematologists of the Amsterdam UMC) as well as for basic research in which the candidate can also assume a vital role.

We are looking for an ambitious postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in molecular biology, preferably with experience in gene editing.
