Poster award Ivo van der Bijl: angiogenesis and vascular stability

Ivo van der Bijl won a poster award at the 2017 Sanquin Science day.

Ivo set up a screen to find factors required for angiogenesis and vascular stability. He identified a variety of novel regulators of angiogenesis and vascular permeability, some of which regulate the trafficking of integrins, VE-Cadherin, or the exocytosis of von Willebrand Factor from Weibel-Palade bodies.  

He was also awarded for his research at the NVB-TRIP symposium earlier this year.

Ivo works at the Cell Adhesion and Migration group of Coert Margadant.
